This role is to support a new factory in Prince George, VA (onsite) startup manufacturing large form-factor equipment.  The product will be large (shipping container size), heavy (50+ tons), and complex.  This position will be part of the core factory startup and onboarding team responsible for building the operations and manufacturing staff, fitting out the building, and creating the process flow/work instructions/etc. from the ground up. Skills to include: panel and point to point wire assembly, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and High Power Electronic assemblies.

Job Summary

The Master Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to support customer demand, production requirements, and business objectives. This role works closely with Production Planning, Operations, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to ensure production schedules are achievable, materials are available, and customer delivery commitments are met.

Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) within SAP.
- Review production performance against schedule and adjust plans as needed to support customer requirements and delivery commitments.
- Partner closely with Production Planners to ensure material availability, capacity alignment, and production readiness.
- Reconcile customer demand, purchase order coverage, and production requirements to maintain an accurate and achievable production schedule.
- Analyze material and capacity constraints and communicate risks to operations and leadership teams.
- Lead or support weekly MPS meetings and drive alignment across Planning, Operations, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure on-time delivery, inventory control, and forecast accuracy targets are achieved.
- Support capacity planning and workload balancing to optimize manufacturing resources.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs), routings, and planning data within ERP systems.
- Coordinate end-of-life (EOL) planning activities and support inventory liability reduction strategies.
- Generate and analyze planning reports to support decision-making and operational performance.
- Drive continuous improvement within production planning and scheduling processes.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and security policies.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing planning experience
- Experience developing and managing Master Production Schedules (MPS).
- Multiple years of hands-on SAP experience in a planning, scheduling, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting production schedules within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of material planning, purchase order management, inventory control, and capacity planning.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead planning discussions without direct authority.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Electronics manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- APICS/ASCM CPIM certification.
- Experience supporting high-volume or complex manufacturing operations.
- Experience with Rabbit Reports or similar SAP reporting tools.
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience.

The pay range for this role is $79,400 - $142,900. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
