Job Summary

We are looking for an curious and results-driven Staff Software Engineer to join our Secure Workload Access (SWA) SaaS team. In this role, you will help build the future of secure workload communication by designing and operating distributed systems across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and identity systems. You will contribute to significant features from technical design through production deployment, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to shape cloud-native security and centralized policy-driven access management at enterprise scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and operate scalable cloud-native SaaS services for Secure Workload Access.
- Build highly secure and reliable components for workload authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement.
- Implement seamless integrations with Kubernetes, cloud providers, identity systems, and PKI solutions.
- Improve the scalability, resiliency, observability, and operational efficiency of owned services.
- Review code and actively mentor other engineers through knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshoot production issues, participate in on-call rotations, and improve operational readiness.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, including rigorous testing, documentation, and code quality.
- Learn about secure software development, building and owning SaaS software, workload identity, and more.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

- 3-5 years of proven software engineering experience, including design and implementation.
- Strong hands-on experience developing backend systems and distributed services in Golang.
- Solid experience building and operating SaaS software.
- Understanding of APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and service-to-service communication.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and the broader cloud-native ecosystem.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on tasks and take ownership of results.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with networking, encryption, PKI, JWT/SVID technologies, and/or SPIFFE/SPIRE.
- Experience running production systems with high standards for reliability, performance, and security.
- Familiarity with observability practices such as logging, monitoring, tracing, and debugging.
- Comfort and adaptability working in fast-moving environments with changing product requirements.
