The role works independently with business, technology, and risk partners to strengthen data controls, resolve issues, and support compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory expectations.

- Direct the maintenance and validation of data inventories, metadata, and lineage documentation to meet enterprise governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Data Quality & Data Defect Management:
- Lead resolution of complex data quality issues and defects, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, corrective action planning, and remediation oversight.
- Establish and oversee data quality validation approaches that assess the completeness, accuracy, consistency, and fitness for use of critical data.
- Analyze data quality metrics and trends, identify emerging or systemic risks, and present actionable insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Risk & Compliance Alignment:
- Interpret enterprise data governance policies, standards, and regulatory expectations and translate them into sustainable business-line requirements and controls.
- Lead and monitor governance processes, including critical data identification, attestation, data quality validation, issue management, and defect remediation.
- Provide independent, risk-based credible challenge regarding governance practices, control design and effectiveness, data handling, and remediation plans.
- Coordinate responses to governance attestations, audits, examinations, and related requests; identify gaps and drive timely corrective action.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as a senior liaison between Enterprise Data Governance and Consumer & Business Banking partners, aligning priorities and resolving complex governance matters.
- Advise data owners, data stewards, control partners, and leaders on governance requirements, risk acceptance, remediation options, and leading practices.
- Represent the business line in enterprise governance forums and working groups, articulating risks, dependencies, decisions, and implementation impacts.
- Influence decisions and secure stakeholder commitment through data-driven analysis, sound risk judgment, and concise executive-level communication.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead improvements that increase the effectiveness, scalability, consistency, and sustainability of governance processes and controls.
- Lead or materially contribute to strategic initiatives that advance data governance maturity, including defining requirements, coordinating delivery, managing dependencies, and measuring outcomes.
