Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment across production and packaging operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports safe plant operations, and contributes to maximizing uptime and operational efficiency. The Maintenance Technician works closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to maintain equipment performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on plant equipment and mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to restore operational performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to determine repair methods and procedures.
- Install, align, and maintain power transmission components and mechanical assemblies using latest precision technology.
- Rebuild and replace mechanical components, including bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems.
- Support troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems in coordination with technical teams.
- Perform equipment inspections and identify potential failures or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders and parts usage.
- Support inventory control and tracking of maintenance parts and materials.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Provide on-call support, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Successfully complete required certifications, including welding qualifications as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- Experience working with industrial mechanical systems, including 480V plant environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of maintenance practices, mechanical systems, and equipment repair.
- Familiar with the use of machine shop tools such as dial indicators, calipers, etc.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance systems and documentation.
- Welding experience or ability to obtain required certifications preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to walk, stand, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work performed in both indoor and outdoor plant environments, including exposure to:
- Moving mechanical parts
- Airborne particles and dust and chemicals
- Varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Moderate to high noise levels
- Must be able to work assigned schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency after-hour callouts.

U.S. Market-Based Salary Range
Maintenance Mechanic I
[$29.00 - $32.00]
In addition to base compensation, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit-sharing payout.
