About this role

Job Description and Requirements

We Are Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have learned that selling technical products is not about pitching features, it is about understanding what keeps an engineering manager up at night and showing them a better way forward. You are equally comfortable on the phone mapping out a customer's workflow challenges and sitting across the table from a director who needs to see the business case in three slides or less.

You do not wait for leads to come to you. You research accounts, find the right person to talk to, and figure out how to get in the door. When a customer says "we're all set," you hear it as the start of a conversation, not the end of one. You know how to listen for the problem underneath the polite brush-off.

Managing five opportunities at different stages does not overwhelm you, it energizes you. You track what matters, follow up when you say you will, and you do not let details fall through the cracks. You are organized enough to run your territory like a business and curious enough to keep learning how the technology actually works. At Synopsys, you will work with engineering simulation tools that solve real problems for customers who build everything from medical devices to autonomous systems.

What You'll Be Doing

- Own a defined territory managing existing customer relationships while identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Conduct sales activities through a mix of phone outreach, video calls, and face-to-face customer meetings to maintain renewals and drive new revenue
- Build account plans for your customer base that map out who uses what, where the growth opportunities are, and how you will get there
- Uncover customer pain points and business outcomes through discovery conversations, then connect those needs to Synopsys simulation and analysis solutions with clear value and differentiation
- Write proposals and quotations that speak to what the customer actually cares about, not just what the product does
- Coordinate across internal teams including marketing, technical support, legal, and account management to move deals forward and deliver for customers
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates, and represent Synopsys at trade shows, customer seminars, and training events as needed

The Impact You Will Have

- You will directly influence whether engineering teams at your accounts have the tools they need to design better products faster
- Your ability to maintain and grow existing accounts will create long-term partnerships that matter to both the customer and Synopsys revenue goals
- The new business you develop will expand Synopsys footprint in your territory and open doors to teams who have not yet seen what our solutions can do
- Your account plans and forecasting discipline will give leadership visibility into the health of the business and where to invest
- The relationships you build will create reference customers and case studies that help the broader sales organization
- Your feedback from the field will shape how product and marketing teams talk about solutions and prioritize what customers actually need
- You will help technical customers solve complex problems, and that work will show up in the products they bring to market

What You'll Need

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field with at least 1 year of professional experience, or 3+ years of relevant work experience in a customer-facing or sales role
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to travel up to 20% within your territory for customer meetings, events, and team gatherings
- Comfort working with technical concepts and the ability to learn engineering analysis and simulation technology on the job
- Experience managing multiple priorities and opportunities simultaneously while keeping track of what needs to happen next
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, you can write a clear email, run a productive meeting, and present a business case that makes sense

Who You Are

- You can take a technical product and explain its value to someone who cares more about outcomes than speeds and feeds
- When a deal stalls, you do not assume it is dead, you figure out what changed and what needs to happen to move it forward
- You are comfortable coordinating across teams to get things done, whether that is looping in a solutions engineer for a demo or working with legal on contract terms
- You use CRM tools and sales processes because they help you stay organized, not because someone told you to
- You can walk into a room of engineers, ask good questions, and walk out with a clear picture of what they are trying to accomplish
- You follow up when you say you will, and customers notice

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will be on-site with a supportive, collaborative team in our Canonsburg, PA office.
