About this role
Anaqua is looking for an experienced HR Manager to lead day-to-day human resources operations for our India office, partnering closely with Regional HR leadership on people strategy, employee experience, and statutory compliance. This role also owns front-line office management for the site — including supplies, vendor coordination, and close collaboration with IT — making it a hands-on, high-visibility position for someone who enjoys both HR generalist work and keeping an office running smoothly. Given the size of the office, this role balances broad HR generalist ownership with practical operations responsibility, and works cross-functionally with global HR, Finance, IT, and Facilities.
You'll love this job if you like to:
HR & People Operations
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers at the India office, handling day-to-day queries, employee relations matters, and escalations.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle locally: onboarding and induction, confirmations, transfers, and offboarding/exit formalities.
- Administer and continuously improve local HR policies, ensuring alignment with global Anaqua policy while remaining compliant with Indian labor law.
- Ensure statutory compliance across Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Gratuity, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, and the Shops & Establishments Act applicable to the state.
- Act as the designated coordinator for the Internal Committee (IC) under the POSH Act (Prevention of Sexual Harassment), including training, recordkeeping, and case handling in partnership with Legal.
- Partner with global Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate, timely monthly payroll inputs, including new hires, exits, leave, and statutory deductions.
- Own leave and attendance administration, and support performance management cycles, including goal-setting, review coordination, and manager guidance.
- Lead local employee engagement, wellness, and recognition initiatives, and support learning & development programs in coordination with regional L&D.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; prepare HR metrics and reports for regional and global leadership.
- Support audits (statutory, internal, and customer/vendor security audits) with accurate HR documentation.
Office Management & Administration
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including ordering and tracking office supplies, pantry stock, stationery, and equipment within approved budgets.
- Work alongside IT to coordinate new-hire equipment provisioning, system access, and desk setup, and to support offboarding (equipment return, access deactivation).
- Serve as the primary liaison with building management/landlord, and manage vendor relationships for housekeeping, security, pantry services, courier, and office maintenance.
- Coordinate office health & safety practices and serve as the local point of contact for workplace safety and emergency preparedness.
- Support visiting leadership and colleagues from other offices with logistics, including local travel, meeting space, and site access.
- Track and manage office operations budget/vendor invoices in partnership with Finance.
- Coordinate space planning and seating logistics as the office headcount evolves
What you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate degree or diploma in HR/IR is a plus, or related experience.
- 5-8 years of progressive HR generalist experience in India, ideally within a multinational technology, software, or professional services organization.
- Solid working knowledge of Indian labor and employment law, including PF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH, and state-level Shops & Establishments Act requirements.
- Prior experience with office administration or facilities coordination, or comfort taking on this scope alongside core HR duties.
- Experience working with an HRIS and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Comfortable partnering with global stakeholders and working across time zones with Regional/HQ HR leadership.
- Excellent communication, discretion, and judgment in handling confidential employee information.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities between strategic HR work and hands-on office needs.
What success looks like:
- Employees experience responsive, consistent HR support and a well-run, well-stocked office.
- The India office remains fully compliant with all applicable statutory HR requirements, with no audit findings.
- IT and office logistics for new hires and departures are seamless, with no gaps in equipment or access.
- Regional HR leadership has clear, timely visibility into India HR metrics, risks, and employee sentiment.
