CCTV Specialist

I.SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to monitor and maintain CCTV systems to support facility security and operations. The CCTV Specialist monitors live camera feeds, coordinates communication for security patrols, reviews and exports recorded footage when authorized, assists with incident documentation, conducts system checks, and supports security, access control, and loss prevention teams with video evidence and system access.

II.  JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES 
•    Monitor live CCTV camera feeds in real time for security threats, safety issues, and policy violations.
•    Serve as the communications hub for security patrols, including radio dispatch, coordination, and real-time support.
•    Review and export recorded footage as requested by authorized personnel.
•    Maintain and troubleshoot CCTV hardware, software, and recording systems.
•    Document and report observed incidents or anomalies to the appropriate security team members.
•    Support access control, loss prevention, and physical security teams with video evidence and system access.
•    Perform routine system checks, camera health audits, and basic maintenance.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

III.  SCOPE OF AUTHORITY
•    Monitors assigned CCTV systems and escalates observed security, safety, or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
•    Coordinates radio communications and real-time support for security patrol activity.
•    Reviews, exports, and preserves recorded video footage only when requested by authorized personnel.
•    Performs routine CCTV system checks, camera health audits, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance support.
•    Maintains accurate incident documentation and supports security-related teams with approved video evidence and system access.

- Internal – Senior Technical Specialist, CCTV team, Security team, security patrols, Access Control, Loss Prevention, Physical Security, site leadership, operations, HR, facilities, and other departments as required.
- External – Vendors, contractors, visitors, auditors, law enforcement, emergency response agencies, and CCTV or security technology service providers as needed and authorized.
V.  POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS  
•    High School Diploma or GED required.
•    Minimum 2 years of experience in CCTV monitoring, security operations, or surveillance systems.
•    Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check with no felony convictions.
•    Must pass pre-employment drug screening and remain drug-free.
•    Must have reliable transportation.
•    Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus during extended monitoring periods.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and CCTV/video management software.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear incident reporting.
•    Ability to work independently in a control room environment.

VI. PREFERRED EDUCATION:  
High School Diploma or GED required. Security or surveillance-related certification preferred.

VII. WORK EXPERIENCE:  
•    Minimum 2 years of experience in CCTV monitoring, security operations, or surveillance systems.
•    Experience with common CCTV platforms, such as Genetec or similar systems, preferred.
•    Knowledge of video analytics, PTZ cameras, and recording systems preferred.
•    Experience working independently in a control room or surveillance operations environment preferred.
        
      VIII. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:  
- Be able to work assigned 1st shift or 2nd shift coverage and maintain focus during extended CCTV monitoring periods.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive video footage, investigations, employee, visitor, vendor, and security-related information.
- Be able to accurately document incidents, export footage when authorized, communicate clearly by radio and written report, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Be able to troubleshoot CCTV hardware, software, and recording system issues at a basic level and coordinate additional technical support when needed.
- Be able to follow company procedures for CCTV monitoring, camera health checks, video retention, incident reporting, access control support, and security operations.
