Job Summary
The Accounting Systems Administrator manages, maintains, and enhances the Bank’s accounting systems and related internal controls, with primary responsibility for the BlackLine platform and FIS General Ledger. This role oversees system administration, configuration, process automation, data integrity, and control compliance to support accurate and efficient accounting operations. The position leads efforts to automate account reconciliations, streamline financial close activities, and improve workflows within BlackLine while ensuring effective integration between new systems, data sources, and the FIS General Ledger. In partnership with Accounting, IT, Data, and business stakeholders, the role supports system enhancements, promotes best practices, strengthens internal controls, and drives continuous improvement in accounting processes and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze current BlackLine workflows and configurations to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement process enhancements across modules such as Account Reconciliations, Transaction Matching, Journal Entries, and Task Management.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to align BlackLine functionality with evolving business needs.
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual tasks and accelerate close timelines.
- Develop and maintain optimization roadmaps and performance metrics.
- Partner with IT and ERP teams to ensure seamless data integration and system interoperability.
- Provide expert-level support to BlackLine users, resolving issues and offering guidance on best practices.
- Create and deliver training materials to improve user adoption and system utilization.
- Monitor usage trends and proactively address adoption challenges.
- Ensure optimized processes adhere to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support documentation and reporting for compliance and audit readiness.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
- Hands-on experience with BlackLine configuration and deployment.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in SQL, data mapping, and integration tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal audit frameworks.
- Advanced Excel and data visualization skills.
Industry and Work Experience
- 3+ years of experience in financial systems implementation, preferably within the banking sector required.
Academic
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field required.
- BlackLine certification or formal training preferred.
- CPA, CFA, or similar financial designation a plus.
