Sr Manager- Accounting

MISSION: Responsible for supervision of company accounting and for production of timely, accurate financial statements that comply with GAAP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Regularly review and post journal entries (including accounts payable, deposits, general journal, etc.) to ensure that accounting information is complete and accurate

- Develop policies and procedures to ensure that financial reports are timely and accurate and conform to GAAP

- Oversee closing of monthly financial statements and assist in the preparation of monthly reporting packages for executive and/or Parent Company review

- Lead the AP function and oversee the review, processing, and posting of pay cycles ensuring proper coding, compliant tax reporting, and timely payments

- Develop and implement process and procedure improvements to support scalability of growth of the company while maintaining adequate controls and accuracy

- Proactively make recommendations to resolve issues and improve processes including recommending new tools/processes/reports that will enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reports

- Coordinate preparation of information needed for external and internal audit and implement any necessary recommendations from internal audit

- Review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that all accounts are reconciled monthly in accordance with established procedures and timelines

- Interface with Parent Company accounting team to reconcile accounts and resolve issues

- Maintain working knowledge of the company’s internal control document(s), ensuring that the I/C documentation remains accurate and that controls are functioning as designed

- Maintain full ownership over finance-related operational requirements of the business (Physical Cash, Credit Card MIDs, etc.)

- Continually evaluate financial and other systems to ensure that capabilities of systems are maximized and recommending modifications or enhancements as needed

- Additional projects and duties as assigned

- As needed, attend some of the Company’s events annually and perform various duties onsite

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- CPA (active license required)

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public accounting and/or a managerial accounting position at a publicly traded company

- Big 4 public accounting experience (audit preferred)

- Working experience with PeopleSoft Financials and Workday Financials strongly preferred

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

- PeopleSoft Financials experience preferred

- Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Detail-oriented with high accuracy, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask

- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes or challenges
