About this role

Responsibilities

- Direct, train, and inspect housekeeping personnel and demonstrate proper cleaning procedures.

- Develop daily and weekly cleaning schedules, adjust assignments to occupancy and service needs, and document completed work.

- Perform housekeeping duties while overseeing routine cleaning, weekly maid service, checkout cleaning, and periodic deep cleaning.

- Serve as the primary liaison with the Fermilab Housing Office, housing guests, and the contracted linen service.

- Remain available as the primary contact for off-hours needs, carry a company-provided cell phone, and coordinate emergency staff response.

- Manage clean and soiled linen collection, distribution, counts, inventory records, and transfers to the linen service.

- Coordinate linen replenishment and specialty dry-cleaning transactions.

- Maintain housing key inventories, secure keys appropriately, and complete end-of-day inventories.

- Inspect housing facilities, report maintenance concerns and property damage, and address cleaning deficiencies.

- Maintain housekeeping supply inventories and ensure approved cleaning products and safe work practices are used.

- Support guest and Housing Office needs, including delivering notices, providing maintenance access, and assisting locked-out guests.

- Complete required safety training and support compliance with Fermilab safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated ability to lead housekeeping personnel while performing hands-on cleaning duties.

- Ability to organize staff schedules, prioritize changing workloads, inspect completed work, and maintain accurate records.

- Effective verbal communication and professional customer-service skills.

- Ability to manage linen inventories, cleaning supplies, and key-control procedures.

- Valid drivers license, ability to drive immediately while onsite, and compliance with applicable vehicle-insurance documentation requirements.

- Real ID-compliant identification and ability to meet Fermilab site-access requirements.

- Availability to support off-hours communications and coordinate emergency response.

- Ability to complete Fermilab-required training before beginning work, including applicable chemical safety, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, and PPE training.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping, hospitality, residential housing, dormitories, or corporate housing.

- Experience with linen-room operations, inventory tracking, and laundry-service coordination.

- Experience managing cleaning services in occupied facilities and responding professionally to resident or guest requests.
