About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology operations. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining complex network environments while helping ensure reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions.
The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud, application, database, telecommunications, and business teams to support enterprise initiatives, resolve complex technical issues, and implement secure network and infrastructure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure and security solutions.
- Manage and support firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, routing, switching, wireless infrastructure, and cloud connectivity.
- Perform firewall deployments, rule migrations, firewall administration, and policy conversions.
- Configure and maintain security policies, access controls, and network security technologies.
- Monitor network traffic, security events, logs, alerts, and performance metrics to identify potential risks or issues.
- Investigate and resolve complex network and cybersecurity incidents.
- Perform security risk assessments and develop strategies to address vulnerabilities and operational risks.
- Support secure network architecture and segmentation strategies across enterprise environments.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the IT project lifecycle, including requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Evaluate emerging networking and cybersecurity technologies and provide recommendations for enterprise adoption.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, security configurations, firewall rules, access controls, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to develop integrated technology solutions.
- Provide advanced technical support and consultation for complex network, infrastructure, and cybersecurity issues.
- Establish and maintain network engineering standards, best practices, and security controls.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to network and security staff.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of combined IT and security work experience , with broad exposure to systems analysis, application development, database design, and administration.
- 3–5 years of experience with information security tools based on NIST standards.
- Strong knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across computer platforms.
- Experience with Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologies, with preference for Palo Alto or Check Point experience.
- Experience configuring and administering firewalls and VPN technologies.
- Experience working with enterprise network infrastructure and security environments.
- Experience using schematic diagramming tools to map infrastructure layouts.
- Strong understanding of network architecture, routing and switching, network segmentation, wireless infrastructure, cloud networking, identity and access management, security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a technical project team.
- Ability to manage complex security and infrastructure projects and provide technical leadership when needed.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
