POSITION SUMMARY:

Park Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests and team members by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

- Welcome guests and provide helpful, professional assistance throughout the property

- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, team members, management, and emergency personnel when appropriate

- Follow the Emergency Action Plan and immediately notify the appropriate supervisor or emergency agency when required

- Establish effective, professional, and efficient radio communication with all SMPA Team Members

- Establish presence by securing premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points, and permitting entry

- Ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors, and the premises

- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities and informing violators of policy and procedures

- Secure all exits, doors, and windows after close of operations

- Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts

- Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner

- Follow all company service, safety, and operating standards

- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences

- Do not take action beyond assigned authority or training; request assistance when an incident requires management, police, fire, or EMS support

- Performs other duties assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and regular attendance necessary

- Must be at least 21 years of age

- Surveillance and reporting experience preferred

- Ability to communicate clearly

- Ability to deal with uncertain situations, possess good judgment and think objectively

- Must be dependable and have emotional control

- One-year experience as a Security Guard/Officer or similar role preferred

- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification is preferred

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Must be able to lift 40 pounds waist high

- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time

- May be required to work outside in cold and/or warm temperatures

- Facility has intermittent noise
