Automotive Technician Responsibilities
- Perform quality automotive repairs and maintenance efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and Ford factory standards.
- Diagnose vehicle concerns and document the diagnostic and repair process using the latest industry technology.
- Perform complete multi-point inspections on all vehicles serviced.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Road-test vehicles to verify repairs were completed properly.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate with service advisors regarding repair recommendations, estimates, vehicle status, and estimated completion times.
- Participate in ongoing Ford and industry training to stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Demonstrate professionalism and behavior consistent with Superior Fords values when working with customers, co-workers, and vendors.
Automotive Technician Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of proven automotive technician experience in a dealership service department.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must own your own tools and toolbox.
- Current Ford STARS technical training certifications or ASE equivalent certifications are required for consideration.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
- A commitment to doing the job right the first time.
