About this role

Job Description
In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.

Join BAE Systems’ Advanced Engineering Methods & Tools (AEM&T) team in Colorado for a hands-on summer internship where you’ll help shape the future of multi‑physics modeling and next-generation defense technology. As part of our Tactical Systems Engineering organization, you’ll work with engineers who develop and integrate high‑fidelity computational models that simulate complex interactions across RF, thermal, mechanical, electromagnetic, and other critical domains. This is a unique opportunity to apply your passion for physics-based simulation, coding, and hardware validation to real-world challenges—bridging analytical disciplines and contributing to cutting-edge system design in a mission‑driven environment.

If you’re curious, love solving tough technical problems, and want to see how advanced modeling shapes real hardware, this is a great place to spend your summer. Here you will work with a team that’s genuinely excited about pushing the limits of multi‑physics simulation and high‑performance computing—and eager to help you learn. You’ll get hands-on experience with tools and techniques used across the industry, contribute to meaningful engineering challenges, and build skills that will stick with you long after the internship ends. Plus, you’ll be surrounded by people who enjoy collaborating, experimenting, and sharing what they know. It’s a chance to do real work and have fun along the way.

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers’ missions. Our collaborative, cross-functional teams are committed to innovation, integrity, continual learning and strong execution.
