Position Title:         Senior Business Advisor
Division:                  Scheduling & Civic Engagement
Classification:         Exempt
Location:                Chicago, Illinois
Salary:                     $92,000- $104,000

Position Summary:
Serves as a confidential aide and advisor to further advance the programs and services offered by the State Treasurer's Office, the Senior Business Advisor is required to proactively identify, develop, and establish new outlets while building relationships that provide opportunities to raise public awareness about the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office programs. Completes special projects and other tasks as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acts as a surrogate for the Treasurer at events and meetings about program offerings including but not limited to: Unclaimed Property, First Fund, Illinois Growth & Innovation Fund, Financial Education, My Illinois Savings, ABLE, Bright Start, and the Illinois Funds/ E-Pay program. This includes public speaking.
- Meets with various organizations, elected officials, community leaders, business leaders and stakeholders to build relationships with the Treasurer's Office and collaborate on certain projects and partnerships, with an emphasis on business organizations and trade associations.
- Works with the Scheduling and Marketing and Communications Divisions on coordinating public appearances for the Treasurer with an emphasis on statewide business organizations and trade associations, including local chambers of commerce throughout the state.
- Works with the Marketing and Communications Division on creating content for communications with business organizations and trade associations, including newsletters and reports.
- Aids the Treasurer's Office in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating program activities and events to ensure consistency and achieve goals.
- Meets with staff as needed to maintain knowledge of office programs and operations.
- Assists in performing various administrative tasks to enhance office operations.
- Provides support on strategic outreach planning to enhance the effectiveness of office outreach and communications to the public.
- Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously and follows through on issues in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably related to the duties enumerated above.

## Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in business administration, political science, or other related field; four (4) or more years of job-related experience, two (2) or more years of experience in public policy; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to carry out the duties of the position.
