About this role

Control Risks is hiring a Due Diligence Analyst to support a major global technology client. The Due Diligence Analyst will support the client's Global Security, Compliance, and Risk Management functions through the delivery of due diligence and investigative research on third parties, vendors, business partners, and individuals.

The successful candidate will conduct research using open-source intelligence (OSINT), public records, media sources, and commercial databases to identify potential financial, legal, regulatory, reputational, and integrity risks. Working closely with senior analysts and cross-functional stakeholders, the analyst will contribute to risk assessments and support informed business decision-making.

- Conduct due diligence research on third parties, vendors, suppliers, executives, beneficial owners, and other subjects using open-source research, commercial databases, corporate records, sanctions data, litigation records, and media sources.
- Gather, organize, and analyze information from multiple sources to identify potential financial crime, corruption, sanctions, regulatory, legal, reputational, and compliance-related risks.
- Support enhanced due diligence investigations by collecting and reviewing relevant information across multiple jurisdictions.
- Prepare clear, concise due diligence reports, research summaries, and risk profiles for internal and client stakeholders.
- Escalate adverse information and potential risk concerns to senior team members for review and further assessment.
- Monitor publicly available information and provide updates on relevant political, regulatory, legal, financial, and security developments that may impact third-party risk assessments.
- Support vendor onboarding and third-party risk management processes by conducting research and documenting findings.
- Manage multiple research assignments simultaneously while meeting established service-level agreements and quality standards.
- Utilize investigative tools, databases, and research methodologies to efficiently identify and evaluate relevant information.
- Contribute to ongoing risk monitoring efforts and support the identification of material developments affecting existing vendors, business partners, and monitored entities.
- Maintain accurate records, case documentation, and research files in accordance with program requirements.
- Support process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to enhance research quality and operational efficiency

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Intelligence Studies, Business, Finance, Law, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience conducting due diligence, investigative research, compliance research, third-party risk assessments, business intelligence, or related analytical work.
- Experience using open-source research techniques and publicly available information to conduct investigations or risk assessments.
- Familiarity with commercial research databases, sanctions screening platforms, corporate records, and media research tools.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify relevant information and potential risk indicators.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience preparing research reports or analytical summaries.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to evaluate information objectively and apply sound judgment when assessing potential risks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience supporting compliance, ethics, investigations, security, procurement, legal, or risk management functions is preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $70000-$85000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
