Shift/Hours: Monday- Friday, Part-time- 18- 20 hours weekly
Pay Rate: $27.00-$32.00/hr
Location: San Jose, CA
Experience: At least 1-3  years of APAR accounting experience

APAR Associate Job Duties include:

Process vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and on time, matching them against purchase orders, receipts, and contracts.

Code invoices to proper project accounts and track job costs to ensure alignment with project budgets.

Prepare preliminary notices, track lien waivers, and maintain updated certificates of insurance (COIs).

Reconcile vendor statements, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain clear communication with vendors, project managers, and internal teams.

Maintain organized, audit-ready physical paperwork and digital filing systems for AP and AR records.

Provide general accounting support, assist with Accounts Receivable, and complete special projects alongside the Staff Accountant.

Other duties as assigned

APAR Associate Preferred Skills include:

Proficiency with accounting software and industry tools such as Sage, GC Pay, or similar ERP systems.

Experience in construction, contractor services, or project-based job costing environments.

Working knowledge of conditional and unconditional lien waiver processes.

Exposure to basic Accounts Receivable functions, client invoicing, or cash application.

Associate degree or ongoing coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

Strong enthusiasm to learn, expand general accounting knowledge, and take on additional responsibilities over time.

APAR Associate Requirements may include:

1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or general accounting support roles.

Hands-on experience matching invoices to purchase orders, contracts, and receipts with high attention to detail.

Familiarity with tracking preliminary notices, lien waivers, or vendor certificates of insurance.

Strong organizational skills with comfort managing both paper filing systems and electronic documentation.

Solid communication skills for interacting professionally with vendors, project managers, and team members.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet payment deadlines, and work collaboratively under the guidance of a Staff Accountant.

Physical ability to lift up to 20  pounds and stand for extended periods

Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen

Must provide 3 professional references
