Job Summary:
The Director, Web Platforms & Digital Products is responsible for defining and leading the strategy, roadmap, governance, and ongoing evolution of SEGA of America's owned digital ecosystem. This leader owns the vision, project management, and operation of sega.com, franchise websites, customized consumer engagement platforms, direct-to-consumer (D2C) storefronts, and future consumer-facing digital products that connect players with SEGA's games, brands, and communities.

Reporting through the Marketing Services organization, this role serves as the business owner for SEGA's web platforms and digital products, translating publishing, marketing, and business objectives into engaging digital experiences that deliver measurable value for players and the business. The Director leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for front-end development, web content operations, and digital product delivery while partnering closely with Product Marketing, Community, Creative Services, Retail Marketing, Publishing, Analytics, and Technology teams across the organization.

Working closely with the CRM & SEGA Account organization, the Director ensures web experiences support customer acquisition, registration, personalization, and player engagement while maintaining clear ownership of SEGA's digital platforms and consumer web experiences. Success in this role requires an experienced digital product leader with a proven track record of managing enterprise-scale consumer websites, digital products, and e-commerce experiences within gaming, entertainment, media, or consumer technology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Digital Strategy & Product Leadership

- Own the long-term vision, strategy, roadmap, and governance for SEGA's consumer web ecosystem, including sega.com, franchise websites, creator platforms, D2C storefronts, promotional experiences, and future digital products.

- Establish SEGA's web ecosystem as the premier destination for players to discover games, engage with franchises, access community content, participate in creator programs, and interact with SEGA's direct-to-consumer services.

- Define and prioritize digital product roadmaps aligned with publishing, marketing, community, and commercial business objectives.

- Balance player needs, business priorities, technical feasibility, and operational efficiency when prioritizing investments.

- Continuously evolve SEGA's digital experiences through user research, customer insights, analytics, experimentation, and emerging technologies.

Web Platforms & Digital Product Management

- Lead the strategy, planning, and ongoing optimization of SEGAs digital experiences, including Sega.com, franchise websites, global game launches, the Creator Program platform, direct-to-consumer storefronts, promotional microsites, live event experiences, and future player-facing digital products.

- Define the product vision, business requirements, feature priorities, and release roadmaps that align with business objectives.

- Establish and maintain standards for user experience, accessibility, SEO, and website performance.

- Drive continuous optimization through analytics, experimentation, and emerging technologies.

- Measure platform and product success through KPIs including engagement, registration, conversion, traffic, and customer satisfaction.

Direct-to-Consumer Commerce

- Own the business strategy, digital product roadmap, and performance for SEGA's direct-to-consumer ecommerce experiences.

- Lead the planning and evolution of digital storefronts supporting physical merchandise, collector's editions, digital products, promotional campaigns, and future commerce initiatives.

- Partner with internal stakeholders and external technology providers to deliver scalable, secure, and engaging commerce experiences.

- Oversee the integration of ecommerce platforms, payment providers, fulfillment partners, customer identity systems, CRM platforms, and analytics solutions.

- Optimize customer journeys, merchandising experiences, checkout flows, and conversion performance.

- Define KPIs measuring conversion, revenue, customer engagement, average order value, and operational effectiveness.

Technology Partnership & Platform Governance

- Serve as the primary business owner and governance lead for SEGA's consumer web platforms.

- Partner closely with the UK-based Technology organization responsible for backend architecture, software engineering, infrastructure, APIs, CMS, and platform operations.

- Translate business priorities into product requirements and technical roadmaps.

- Collaborate on roadmap planning, sprint prioritization, release management, QA, and platform governance.

- Manage relationships with third-party technology vendors and integration partners supporting SEGA's web ecosystem.

- Ensure digital platforms are scalable, secure, performant, accessible, and maintainable.

Team Leadership

- Lead and develop a high-performing Web Platforms & Digital Products team responsible for strategy, execution, operations, and ongoing management of SEGAs consumer web ecosystem.

- Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development for Front-End Web Developers, Content Project Managers, and additional digital product and web specialists as the function evolves.

- Foster a culture centered on innovation, accountability, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and player-first thinking.

Cross-Functional Leadership

- Partner closely with CRM & SEGA Account, Product Marketing, Community, Creative Services, Paid Media, Retail Marketing, Publishing, Analytics, Technology, Global Studios, Ecommerce, Operations and external technology partners.

- Ensure digital platforms support enterprise business objectives while delivering consistent, engaging, and high-quality player experiences.

- Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed.

- Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork. In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

- Typically requires 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in digital product management, website strategy, web platforms, digital experience, or ecommerce.

- Minimum 5 years leading cross-functional teams and enterprise digital initiatives.

- Proven success managing enterprise-scale consumer websites serving large global audiences.

- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams consisting of developers, producers, content managers, and digital product professionals.

- Demonstrated experience building or managing D2C ecommerce platforms and consumer digital products.

- Experience partnering with software engineering organizations using Agile development methodologies.

- Experience in the gaming, entertainment, media, or consumer technology industries strongly preferred.
