Overview:

Job Description Summary:

Conducts the operations of the IC and Midwest Pediatric Device Consortium (MPDC). Facilitates integration amongst all stakeholders including Office of Technology and Commercialization (OTC), regulatory, engineering, industry relations, finance, and clinicians. Responsible for maintaining necessary communication, record keeping, and collaboration with all parties.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

- Facilitates operations of both the internal Innovation Center and external MPDC, which involves leading initiatives, process creation, team oversight, and project management.
- Provides full-time administrative support and efforts towards overseeing allocation of funds, screening and selecting projects, and tracking and maintaining metrics.
- Oversees initiatives, including data collaboration and clinical trials infrastructure building.
- Acts as a liaison between industry partners, inventors, academic institutions, and health care systems. Provides expertise in engineering, prototyping, regulatory, IP, and project management where appropriate.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business, or related field, required.

Skills:

- A clear passion for improving the advancement of pediatric devices in the region and nationally, required.
- Leadership and organizational skills to manage large groups and individuals, required.
- Ability to manage and promote complex business and scientific projects successfully, required.
- Will be able to navigate/develop relationships across institution.
- Able to communicate with diverse groups and conduct meetings both in person and virtually.
- Understanding of regulatory bodies (i.e., FDA, IRBs etc), preferred.
Basic familiarity with intellectual property concepts, preferred.

Experience:

- Business management experience, preferred.
- Previous experience in the BioDesign process and educating fellows in “needs based”, preferred.
- Previous experience procuring and managing funds for research programs, preferred.
- Financial account management and funding allocation experience, preferred.
- Experience in medical device project management or other related experience, preferred.
- Experience and/or understanding of the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem, preferred.
- Experience working in biomedical or med-tech space, preferred.
