Leidos has a career opening for the Director of Sector Engagements reporting directly to the Senior Director of the Corporate Earned Value Management (EVM) and Controls Center of Excellence (EVM COE).
Position Summary:
- The position is on the Corporate EVM COE team leading and executing the core responsibilities of standardizing our engagements with the Leidos Sectors. The Sectors represent our five line organizations responsible for our contracts within Leidos.
- The position is responsible for leading and supporting all aspects of the EVM COE team members deployed on contracts within the Sectors, the solutions of the EVM COE rolled out to Sectors, and the functions the EVM COE champions across the enterprise, regardless of whether the analyst’s report to the EVM COE or to others within the company.
- This role includes driving the standardization of engagements across the Sectors, and across programs and initiatives within each Sector, and includes the full lifecycle of initiatives and contracts, from proposal to preparation for award, to start-up through IBRs and continuing through the execution lifecycle.
- The ideal candidate is experienced in all aspects of Program Management (government, commercial and international), with extensive expertise in the Earned Value Management System and Integrated Master Scheduling. Experienced in achieving successful EVMS validations with several Government Agencies. Is recognized as an experienced leader who has expertise in a broad range of functional areas and disciplines, including program management, EVMS implementations and compliance, scheduling, financial disciplines (pricing, program finance, FP&A, etc.), contract management, and strong understanding of inter-company functional relationships. The ideal candidate assists in the creation and implementation of Program Management (PM) best practices accompanied by creation and delivery of PM, Control Account Manager (CAM), EVMS workshops, classroom and computer based training (CBT) along with the development of EVMS policies and procedures. Strong technical, management and mentoring skills, able to lead a team of individual contributors, program finance analysts (PFAs), schedulers, EVM analysts, CAMs, Program Managers, and line executives. Ideal candidate would have experience managing and leading a dozen direct reports with an extended team of several dozen employees with significant responsibility in a matrixed environment that requires the integration of program and cross functional teams to achieve program and organizational based goals.
- The position provides leadership and hands-on support to the program management, contracts, EVMS and scheduling support teams, CAMs, and Program Managers to improve program planning and execution while ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and company policy and procedures. As the principal EVM COE leader of standardizing and elevating the impact of our engagements, the position works closely with program teams, other functions, and line managers to establish, maintain, and grow key government customer relationships and to help drive program growth and execution of the Business Plan. It is important to note that the Leidos EVM portfolio has programs across many diverse customer environments (e.g., DoD, NASA, FAA, Intel, DHS, Healthcare), contracting scenarios (e.g., integrated subks, formal flow down, reporting only, EVMS on FFP), and across a range of dollar values with different levels of external and internal understanding and buy-in. The ideal candidate will have various experiences across these diverse challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the standardization of the EVM COE’s engagement with our five Sectors.
- Leads and manages the EVM COE team leaders aligned with each Sector and their several dozen supporting team members.
- Lead Team Managers aligned with Sectors to ensure they are: Engaging with their teams to maximize support to program teams and program managers
- Ensuring quality data, deliverables, and process adherence is being executed in accordance with program and Leidos requirements
- Leading and managing the critical resource management responsibility to align the right person, with the right role, at the right time
- Engage with line leadership and the Program Directors and Program Execution team members to ensure the full value of the EVM COE’s solutions are realized.
- Engage with program and line leadership to accelerate the adoption of COE solutions.
- Works with the other team leaders on the EVM COE to maximize the operational efficiency of the team to generate impactful value to the Sectors.
- Responsible for supporting the organization's talent development, performance management, and business strategy.
- Supports programs in operational decisions and provides advice on enhancing the performance of the portfolio of projects in the organizations.
- Responsible for the implementation of EVM COE policies, practices and solutions.
- Requires deep management and leadership knowledge of Program Management, EVMS, scheduling and related controls solutions to lead cross-family projects or program teams or manage across multiple disciplines.
- Utilizes expert domain knowledge, professional principles and theories to develop advanced concepts, techniques, solutions and standards.
- Serves as a subject matter expert within professional area providing a thorough understanding of deliverable content, issue identification/resolution, etc.
- Regularly interacts with senior executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization/project.
- Typically negotiate and develop shared solutions to convince internal and external parties to accept concepts, practices and approaches of the area.
- Significant interface with Program Managers, Contracts and Senior Technical Personnel, as well as other organizations.
Basic Qualifications
- Primarily manages through subordinate management and/or directly manages experienced specialist employees.
- Contributes to the development of the strategy and own operational direction to the organization.
- Accountable for managing and communicating short and long-term direction within the organization.
- Directs activities that have significant impact on the achievement of results for the project and/or function.
- Work requires a high degree of responsibility for resources and frequently influences organizational or operational decisions made by leadership.
- Problems are highly complex and typically involve multiple families, projects, or customers – conducts extensive investigation to understand the root cause of problems.
- Negotiates and influences others to understand and accept new concepts, practices and approaches.
- Requires deep management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-family project or program teams or managing across multiple families.
- Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 10+ years or prior relevant experience. Generally, has 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of using tools like Microsoft Project, Deltek Cobra, OPDEC IPM, and other Scheduling and EVMS tools.

## Pay Range:
Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00
