Receiving & Inventory Specialist

Job Overview

The Receiving & Inventory Specialist is responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, storing, and tracking raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods. This role maintains inventory accuracy, supports production needs, and ensures materials are properly documented and handled within CyCan’s chemical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Receive shipments and verify quantities, product codes, lot information, condition, and documentation against purchase orders.
- Process receipts, transfers, adjustments, and other inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for incoming material sampling, inspection, and release.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability.
- Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations.
- Pick, stage, transfer, and organize materials to support production and warehouse operations.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and approved material-handling equipment.
- Maintain receiving, inventory, shipping, and material movement documentation.
- Follow established procedures for FIFO, hazardous materials, dangerous goods, and warehouse safety.
- Support vendor returns, dunnage, recycling, warehouse organization, and continuous improvement activities.
- Transport materials between nearby CyCan facilities as needed.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, Purchasing, and Logistics to resolve inventory and material issues.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of receiving, inventory, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Manufacturing experience required; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory control, and cycle counting.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and basic math skills.
- Forklift experience required.
- Hazardous materials or Dangerous Goods experience is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials and work in a warehouse/chemical manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions:

- On-site role in a warehouse and chemical manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals, raw materials, and production equipment.
- Requires standing, walking, and lifting materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Use of PPE required at all times in designated areas.
