Job Description Summary
System Quality and Safety Manager works collaboratively with the Path/Lab ICCE Leadership at MUSC. Under limited supervision, the Quality/Safety manager provides full support to the QAPI/safety program f or the Path/Lab ICCE system-wide. This includes collecting relevant quality data, analyzing, and assessing data, working with relevant stakeholders on disseminating data and information, benchmarking performance, and leading multidisciplinary teams to improve performance based on goals. This position supports all QAPI and regulatory/accreditation activities for hospital and ambulatory (including Intuitive partnerships) based laboratory spaces.
Supports the system director quality, safety, regulatory and education for the ICCE. Monitors data for trends and OFI needs. Supports the needs of regulatory and accreditation for pathology and laboratory across the health system (CLIA license, inspection preparation, and maintenance). Assists in the implementation of system KPI’s for all sites. Supports performance improvement work for both the anatomical and clinical pathology teams.

Education Requirements:
Minimum Training and Education :
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related medical or scientific discipline or Associate degree with equivalent work experience to meet CLIA requirements for technical oversight.
Work Experience:
5+ years related work experience or a Master's Degree with 3+ years related work experience.
Must have met the educational requirements for and passed a recognized Certification Examination for Medical Technologist (also known as Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS).
Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) or Certification by American Medical Technology (AMT) MLS
Additional Job Description
Education: Bachelor's Degree with 5 years related work experience; or a Master's Degree with 3 years related work experience. Certifications: CPHQ Certification preferred. Lean Six Sigma experience required.
