Position Summary:

Responsible for technical leadership and development of quality control and inspection resources in support of business needs. Communicates expectations clearly to the inspectors, triages tasks appropriately, and trains employees in the latest inspection techniques.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Organize, coordinate, and communicate day-to-day site quality operations and expectations.

- Participate in corrective actions including investigation, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive action plans.

- Provide leadership and mentoring for inspectors.

- Provide training and technical assistance to inspection and production personnel regarding inspection methods, use of inspection equipment and engineering drawing interpretation.

- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.

- Participate in Contract Review process to assure compliance with all customer requirements as documented in supplier agreements, procedures, work instructions and engineering drawings.

- Assists Supplier Quality, Purchasing and Engineering to resolve component quality issues and audit issues.

- Ensure Inspection sheets and Control plans are up to date per customer requirements, participate in the development of new sheets and plans as necessary.

- Identify and drive cost reduction opportunities and initiatives in areas of responsibility.

- Working with others in Quality to investigate, review and recommend the latest inspection tools and technologies to ensure competitive advantage.

- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives in quality control function.

- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), In-process and Final Inspection as needed.

- Provide Quality Engineering support to Shop personnel with respect to trouble shootings during set up and production.

Qualifications:

- High School diploma or GED equivalent

- A minimum of 3 years related experience required.

- ASQ Certification preferred.

- Due to contractual requirements, this position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong leadership skills.

- Strong CMM programming, Vision System programming and excellent knowledge basic surface plate inspection methodology, and mechanical inspection instruments,

- Strong background with machined component drawings and GD&T.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to express technical concepts effectively, both written and verbal.

- Proficient at data collection, analysis, and presentation.

- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications

- Understand basic gauges and their applications.

- Communicates well with others; escalating issues to management that require attention.

- Strong math background

- Strong attention to detail

- Be able to use all manual equipment and perform checks such as runout with a v block and indicator, Sunnen gauge and various specialized gauges.
