Position Summary
Fire & Ice Heating and Air Conditioning is seeking a customer-focused Electrical Safety Advisor to join our growing team in Columbus, Ohio. This role combines residential electrical service expertise with consultative sales. The ideal candidate will inspect, diagnose, and recommend electrical solutions that improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our customers' homes.
As a trusted advisor, you will educate homeowners on electrical safety concerns, identify opportunities for service upgrades, and present solutions that meet their needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys helping customers, building relationships, and earning performance-based incentives.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Safety Evaluations & Service
- Perform comprehensive residential electrical safety inspections.
- Diagnose electrical issues and identify safety hazards.
- Evaluate electrical panels, wiring, grounding systems, surge protection, outlets, switches, and other residential electrical components.
- Recommend repairs, upgrades, and code-compliant solutions.
- Complete electrical service work in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Maintain accurate service documentation and customer records.
Sales & Customer Education
- Build trust with homeowners through professional consultations and exceptional customer service.
- Present repair and replacement options using a consultative sales approach.
- Educate customers on electrical safety risks and the benefits of recommended solutions.
- Generate revenue through electrical service agreements, panel upgrades, surge protection, EV charger installations, generator solutions, and other residential electrical services.
- Meet or exceed sales, conversion, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Follow up on leads and opportunities generated through service calls and company marketing efforts.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with HVAC technicians, comfort advisors, and customer service teams to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Participate in ongoing training for electrical safety, customer experience, and sales techniques.
- Promote Fire & Ice's commitment to integrity, transparency, and world-class service.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of residential electrical service experience.
- Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems and safety standards.
- Proven ability to diagnose and solve electrical issues.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily service calls.
Preferred
- Licensed Electrician (State of Ohio preferred).
- Prior in-home sales or service sales experience.
- Experience presenting financing options and service agreements.
- Knowledge of generators, EV chargers, panel replacements, and home electrical upgrades.
- CRM and mobile field service software experience.
