About this role
Better to Learn is a partnership between Brandeis University and Legacy Heritage Fund that brings together Jewish teens in weekly online learning sessions. In addition, students are invited to the Boston area for a three day residency in late December to engage in thoughtful learning, hear guest speakers, connect with their online peers and visit Brandeis University. We seek a Residential Coordinator to supervise staff and support students and programming at the B2L December Retreat.
Responsibilities
- Attend the December 20-23 Retreat and stay in the hotel ( Hilton Garden Inn, Waltham (https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/boswagi-hilton-garden-inn-boston-waltham/?SEO_id=GMB-AMER-GI-BOSWAGI&y_source=1_MjA4NDE5NS03MTUtbG9jYXRpb24ud2Vic2l0ZQ%3D%3D) ) with students and Community Educators;
- Supervise B2L Community Educators and provide any guidance and support needed;
- Oversee all Retreat programming (pre-planned);
- Oversee all Retreat logistics and programmatic needs;
- Serve as the point person for Instructors and Guest Speakers during the Retreat;
- In consultation with the B2L Project Director, plan and attend B2L Retreat Orientation (via Zoom);
- Meet with the Project Director 2-4 times before the Retreat to plan/organize;
- Assist with bringing supplies to the hotel and returning them to Brandeis;
- Act as a positive Jewish role model for B2L participants.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree;
- Experience as a camp counselor, youth worker or religious school teacher;
- Experience working with and supervising teens;
- Must be creative, flexible and able to comply with all program policies.
Compensation : $2000 plus room and board
