Data Analyst

Location: Montreal, Canada - Hybrid

A role you will love

Computershare Technology Services (CTS) provides global technology and infrastructure/support services for existing Computershare proprietary software together with a full range of development services for new products.

CTS globally has approximately 1,500 employees and is made up of Service Delivery, Development Centre of Excellence, Digital Centre of Excellence and 6 technology groups aligned to our global business lines.

The incumbent is part of a team who, collectively, support the migration of data from third party transfer agent’s computer systems.

Key responsibilities:

MIGRATIONS

- Co-ordinate with the business the requirements for new conversions of new clients onto the Computershare proprietary software – SCRIP.
- Inspect the data received from the TA to ensure consistency and correct format.
- Work with the Developers to ensure correct mapping of data and that the Computershare Migration Software displays all information correctly on SCRIP.
- Once the data has been inspected in system testing and we are convinced everything is being displayed correctly, then we advise the business for them to validate and confirm that everything is correct.
- Liaise with the business to confirm everything is correct and receive their confirmation of sign-off.

CORPORATE ACTIONS

- Plan for upcoming Corporate Actions of an extraordinary nature or large scale.
- Set up the Job Parameters for these extraordinary Corporate Actions.

What will you bring to the role

Required:

7+ years experience in Transfer Agency, Employee Equity Plans, Securities Processing, Financial Services Operations, or related industry.

Demonstrated experience leading complex data migrations, corporate actions, system implementations, or operational change projects.

Experience working collaboratively with technology, development, operations, and client-facing teams.

Proven ability to manage high-risk operational events with minimal supervision.

Advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis).

SQL and database query skills.

Data mapping and conversion experience.

File layout analysis (fixed-width, CSV, XML, flat file structures).

Systems integration and data validation experience.

Change management and release processes.

JIRA, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, or equivalent work management tools.

Strong stakeholder management.

Influencing without authority.

Critical thinking and root cause analysis.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent high-priority projects.

Strong decision-making under tight operational deadlines.

Preferred:

Deep understanding of transfer agency operations.

Corporate actions processing expertise.

Shareholder recordkeeping systems.

Employee equity plans and securities processing.

Regulatory and risk considerations associated with corporate actions and shareholder records.

Executive-level communication skills.

Knowledge of internal Computershare systems, policies and procedures.
