Job Description
The Director, HEOR is accountable for the development, alignment, and delivery of HEOR strategy and evidence-generation initiatives for assigned on-market and/or pipeline indication(s). Serving as the HEOR lead on cross-functional teams and pipeline commercialization teams, the Director represents the HEOR perspective in shaping evidence strategies across US and International markets.
This role is responsible for translating brand priorities into integrated evidence strategies that support commercialization, market access, reimbursement, and policy objectives while maintaining scientific rigor and integrity. The Director ensures HEOR plans are aligned with broader brand strategies and cross-functional evidence-generation plans.
In partnership with cross-functional leaders, the Director contributes innovative and differentiated evidence strategies, builds alignment, and gains stakeholder buy-in for evidence priorities. Leveraging deep HEOR expertise and business acumen, the Director influences indication-level decisions, prioritizes book of work within available resources, and delivers impact against brand objectives.
Key Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Accountable for developing and delivering integrated HEOR strategies for assigned indication(s)
- Serves as the HEOR lead on cross-functional teams, influencing key strategic decisions.
- Shapes the HEOR contribution to global development, commercialization, and lifecycle strategies
- Leads the HEOR evidence-generation plan, aligned with scientific, regulatory, market access, and commercial objectives.
- Accountable for end-to-end delivery of the HEOR book of work, from strategy development through evidence generation, dissemination, and pull-through.
- Drives lifecycle evidence and labeling strategies to support differentiation and value demonstration.
- Provides strategic HEOR leadership to support market access, reimbursement, and value communication objectives.
- Accountable to ensuring strong partnership with all relevant HEOR COE functions to ensure a comprehensive HEOR voice is represented in cross-functional meetings
- Communicates evidence and strategic recommendations to senior internal and external stakeholders, including executives, payers, HTAs, and KOLs.
- Engages senior leaders with executive presence, prioritizes the book of work within available resources, and gains stakeholder alignment.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree, MD, PharmD, MS in Economics, Econometrics, or (pharmaco)epidemiology
- Minimum of ten years working experience with Master’s, seven years with PhD/PharmD (can include fellowship experience). Professional training in a health field (MD,PharmD, etc.) is a plus
- Experience leading complex products and/or clinical development in support of pipeline development and on-market product support. Experience within pharmaceutical industry preferred.
- Must perform at times in previously uncharted territory with few, if any, established guidelines or procedures. At other times, exceedingly complex governmental rules and regulations must be followed. For problems surrounded by complex rules and regulations, the Director must be able to direct compliance knowledgeably and expeditiously
- Must be able to develop creative and effective solutions to inter- and intra-project priority conflicts, resource constraints and other problems which may impact project or group goals and deliverables across multiple programs
- Extensive knowledge of the global regulatory, HTA and PR&A landscape, as well as understanding of other development-related functions as they relate to all phases of drug development. Experience leading complex products and/or clinical development in support of pipeline development and on-market product support
- Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional global team environment. Ability to interact externally and internally to support global business strategy. Additionally, this person must be able to interact successfully with Senior Management globally (Executive staff, Area VPs, GMs etc.) and act as the HEOR project/group champion and spokesperson
- High goal-orientation with the ability to see solutions rather than problems as projects encounter the inevitable ups and downs associated with new drug development or on-market product support. Must be a self- starter and have a strong desire to see projects achieve commercial success. Skills to perform the dual roles of leading a cross functional team and managing scientific personnel in clinical research

This is hybrid role base in Lake County, IL however, one of our other locations may be considered
