Job Description BAE Systems, Inc. is looking for an experienced and dynamic professional to join us as the Director of Employee and Executive Communications. In this role, you'll shape and drive communication strategies that connect our mission, values, and business objectives.

You will serve as a strategic communications partner to our core corporate functions, including Human Resources, IT, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, and Government Relations. Working closely with senior leadership, you will craft craft clear, authentic messaging that strengthens engagement and drives alignment across the organization. This position reports to the Senior Director of People Communications & Content.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Function Partnership
- Develop and deliver tailored communication strategies for key corporate functions, with a focus on Human Resources, IT, Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, and Government Relations. Shape each strategy around the distinct goals, audiences, and priorities of the functions you support.
- Act as a trusted advisor to functional leaders, translating complex initiatives into clear, compelling messages that resonate with employees at every level.
- Anticipate communication needs early, addressing potential challenges before they surface to keep the organization informed and aligned.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner across BAE Systems, Inc. functions and segments to ensure consistent, streamlined messaging that reflects our shared priorities.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with teams across the company, serving as the connective tissue that keeps communication cohesive and coordinated.
Strategic Messaging and Planning
- Create clear, consistent, and impactful communications that support key initiatives, functional goals, and leadership priorities.
- Plan and execute communications for campaigns, events, and organizational changes.
- Use data and insights to refine channels, engage stakeholders, and deliver measurable results.
Executive Communications
- Craft and deliver powerful messaging for executive leaders that aligns with company goals and reflects our values.
- Partner with executives to connect authentically with their audiences, both inside and outside the organization.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- At least 12 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or similar field or 8 years with an advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or similar field.
- Proven experience in corporate communications, specifically in employee engagement and executive messaging.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and public speaking skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for varied audiences.
- Strong people leadership skills and experience with a demonstrated ability to manage high-impact projects and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to think strategically, balancing long-term vision with day-to-day execution.
- Adept at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a collaborative, professional approach.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Measurement and insights expertise.
- AP style guru.
- Experience in HR- or IT-related communications and event support.
- Previous experience in the aerospace, defense, or technology industries.
- Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $138267 - $235053

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
