Rockland Trust is hiring a Home Equity Specialist I to join our Home Equity team. In this role, you'll support the end-to-end processing of home equity applications while building expertise in home equity products, systems, processes, compliance requirements, and customer service. You'll work closely with customers, Retail partners, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and accurate application experience.

As part of a collaborative team environment, you'll contribute to shared goals and workload management while developing the skills and knowledge needed to independently handle increasingly complex applications and grow your career within the Home Equity team.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and process home equity applications in accordance with established procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review application information for completeness and accuracy and identify items requiring clarification or correction.
- Prepare and issue required disclosures and documentation accurately and within established timelines.
- Request, collect and review required supporting documentation.
- Monitor assigned applications and proactively manage outstanding items to keep files moving through the process.
- Communicate with customers and Retail partners regarding application status, documentation needs and next steps.
- Maintain accurate and timely updates within applicable systems and tracking tools.
- Escalate questions, exceptions, compliance concerns and complex situations to appropriate team members.
- Collaborate with team members to support workload balancing and coverage.
- Demonstrate a commitment to a positive customer and Retail experience.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service, administrative, financial services, lending, or related experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to learn and apply Home Equity products, policies, procedures, systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to use sound judgment within established procedures and seek guidance when appropriate.
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and ability to learn new systems and technology.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous banking, mortgage, consumer lending, or financial services experience.
- Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with loan origination or document management systems.
