About Houston-Galveston Area Council
The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than 7 million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day.
We make decisions that affect our transportation system, ensure the safety and well-being of our seniors, connect people to jobs, help families recover from natural disasters, preserve water quality for our children, and so much more. What will I be doing?
- Assist with the planning and development of new and existing large-scale projects
- Manage multiple projects related to training and professional development
- Develop action plans to streamline processes and achieve expected outcomes in a timely manner
- Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with the Workforce Board’s directive and compliant with all federal, state and local laws and regulations
- Supervise diverse team of individuals
- Strategically adjust work load amongst team members
- Effectively communicate unit and project status
Key Qualifications
- Experienced in Project Management Principles and proven ability to handle large-scale projects from inception to completion, and anywhere in between
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively handle multiple competing deadlines
- Skill in allocating scarce resources, including human capital
- Effective leadership, motivation, and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving capabilities
Do you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
- 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or in job-related duties
Salary range: $85,000.00 - $93,000.00
