INTERNSHIP PROGRAM OBJECTIVE

The goal of the Summer Analyst, Asset Management position at The Coury Firm is to provide an opportunity for real world application of financial concepts and investment strategies learned in the academic environment. This internship program seeks to equip interns with the knowledge and experience they need to be successful. Individual instruction combined with shadowing mentors allows interns to make the connection between theory and practice.

The Coury Firm honors the internship experience as an opportunity to provide mentorship. Our leadership is highly invested in the program, and interns get the chance for one-on-one interaction with our CEO, Portfolio Manager, and other Wealth Advisory teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

A Summer Analyst, Asset Management will work collaboratively with the Asset Management team supporting a variety of projects including but not limited to due diligence, manager communications, investment product research, and assistance in administering and delivering 401(k) scoring models and other client fulfillment options.

Primary responsibilities of the Summer Analyst, Asset Management include:

- Supporting the Asset Management team members in the execution of their duties

- Contributing to the portfolio construction process and investment committee meeting preparation

- Assisting in construction of the model portfolio menu, portfolio fulfillment options, manager fact cards, and the model portfolio interface

- Assisting with the production of research reports and thought leadership pieces, including quarterly and annual investment outlooks

- Assisting with macro-economic research and key macro slides and charts

- Regularly monitoring economic and market events and their portfolio impact

- Contributing to product research and development, including stock strategy research, futures hedging / overlay strategies, and quantitative strategies

- Communicating with fund managers and key investment counterparties on matters related to due diligence, product development, and operational matters relevant to investment strategy and implementation

- Assisting with client management and support, including transition sheets, client portfolio / holdings analysis, and client presentation support

- Supporting private investment reporting for client portfolios

- Contributing to ad hoc industry, company, and investment research projects

- Administering and delivering the weekly market monitor model and commentary

- Assisting with client material preparation and portfolio analysis

- Assisting with client reporting technologies, including asset class coding, model portfolio coding, IPS frameworks, and private investment reporting

- Coordinating with and assisting the Private Wealth team in administering and implementing investment recommendations as necessary

- Other duties and special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The Summer Analyst, Asset Management must meet the following qualifications to qualify for application/consideration:

- Be a 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate candidate in a finance or business track program, or a current graduate student pursuing an MBA

- Be open to all academic degrees; a background in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred

- Be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.3

- Be proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

- Be able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with minimal supervision

- Possess strong communication skills

- Demonstrate excellent work ethic, a desire for continual improvement, and strong intellectual curiosity
