About this role
The Level 1 IT Technician provides first-level technical support and manages the setup, deployment, and lifecycle of end-user computing and mobile devices for Juniper employees. This role prepares and provisions company-issued laptops, desktops, smartphones, and tablets to company standards and security policies, supports employee onboarding and offboarding, and resolves common hardware, software, and access issues. The role also travels to company locations to provide onsite support, deploy equipment, and assist with technology-related projects.
- Follow, promote, and enforce safety policies, practices, and procedures to ensure safe working conditions and behaviors are maintained.
- Configure, deploy, and support Windows laptops and desktop computers for new and existing employees, including operating system updates, applications, security software, and company-required configurations, in accordance with company standards and security policies.
- Enroll, configure, and provision company-issued mobile devices, including Apple iPhones, Apple iPads, and Android smartphones, through the company's mobile device management (MDM) platform, and maintain security policies and compliance settings, including device replacements, upgrades, and remote wipes.
- Set up and maintain user accounts and access, including email, Microsoft 365 applications, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and VPN connectivity.
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, printer, and mobile device issues, including password resets, account access, and basic application support.
- Document support requests, resolutions, and procedures in the ticketing system, and escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams.
- Coordinate device preparation and account setup for employee onboarding and offboarding in partnership with HR and department leaders.
- Manage device returns, redeployments, and secure decommissioning of retired equipment, including data sanitization in accordance with company security standards.
- Maintain hardware and software asset inventory and deployment records.
- Provide onsite technical support, equipment deployment, and project assistance at company locations as needed.
- Contribute to standard device configuration procedures and end-user guides that promote consistent setup and user self-sufficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or technical degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a desktop support, service desk, or IT technician role preferred.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, iOS/iPadOS, Android OS, Active Directory or Entra ID, and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
- Experience with MDM platforms such as Microsoft Intune preferred.
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent technical certification preferred.
- Experience working within an IT ticketing system preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively share information across teams and stakeholders.
- Proficient in computer and technology skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and mobile devices.
- Ability to travel to company locations as needed, with reliable transportation.
- Must possess a valid US driver's license (or equivalent) and meet Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) verification requirements.
