Overview

AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Senior Manager, Safety & Security to join team supporting our latest Project in Toronto. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director of HSE at AtkinsRéalis. The purpose of this role is to support the project achieving top tier Safety and Security results. This involves interfacing across all project teams to establish solid relationships, provide leadership on Safety & Security elements, resources, audits, training, evaluation of own and contractor/subcontractor systems, analyze safety related data, and develop programs and processes for the continued improvement of Safety & Security performance.

Your role

- Deliver the owner’s health, safety, and security obligations.
- Manage the Health, Safety and Security team to provide effective support and subject matter expertise across the program.
- Develop and implement the governance and processes required for effective health, safety, and security management.
- Liaise with the corporate safety and security department to ensure coordination, escalation, and effective reporting.
- Confirm the contractors’ Health Safety and Security Management Plans and implement the assurance regime for the program.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Leads and the other PMO Services functional leads to ensure that Health Safety and Security is integrated across the program.
- Work with the Program Leads to coordinate health safety and security reviews and assurance activities and provide the necessary support to program delivery.
- Provide Management and Executive level reporting and provide advice and subject matter expertise with respect to trends and corrective actions.
- Provide advice and guidance with respect to health safety and security policy and regulations that impact program delivery.
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of staff.

About you

- Recognized degree and professional designation - Canadian Registered Safety professional (CRSP), Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC) or equivalent is considered an asset plus a minimum of 15 years of professional experience with 10 in an on-site safety and security leadership role.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in large international airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs greater than CAD $500M.
- Able to demonstrate significant expertise in health and safety, security, incident investigation, and other applicable technical fields with experience in managing teams to deliver health, safety, and security requirements on complex projects and programs.
- Demonstrable experience in managing senior stakeholder relationships and providing strategic level reporting to enable effective decision making. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills including the ability to facilitate meeting/workshops with large groups of stakeholders.
- Strong technical capability in all project phases, including design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance preferably large program/projects.
