Tractor Driver

Position Summary

- A Tractor Operator will be responsible for operating various construction equipment including a farm tractor with a 14-foot batwing and/or plow to move materials, for brush hogging and discing. Ability to operate a zero-turn mower is a plus.
- May also be responsible for safety, equipment inspections, and possibly assisting with repairs.
- The position will be expected to assist other crafts in their downtimes, which may include non-operating activities.

Required Qualifications

- Must have experience and knowledge of operating varies construction equipment including but not limited to tractors and zero-turn mowers.
- Must have basic mechanical knowledge and illustrate the abilities to inspect equipment.
- Must have knowledge of and be familiar with soil types.
- Must illustrate knowledge of excavating and the specifications that are required for a given excavation.
- Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
- Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing administrative processes such as but not limited to equipment inspection paperwork.
- Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations.
- Must be able to make it work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed with the proper notification.

Preferred Additional Qualification

- Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’d employee.
- Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- TWIC card required.

This position does not have any direct reports.

Physical Requirements

- Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
- Will talk and hear to communicate.
- Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
- May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
- Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and leather steel-toed work boots.
