Title: Material Handler
Location: Independence, MO
Salary: Starts at $21.75/hour with increase to $23.49 after successful completion of 120-day probationary period.
Schedule: 4-10s; Eve M-TH 6:00PM-4:30AM, Days M-TH 5:00AM-3:30PM (shift assignment based on availability)

Focus: The Material Handler is responsible for the unloading of incoming raw materials and essential materials.
Material Handler Essential Job Functions:
- Move materials, supplies, ammunition components, finished ammunition, and scrap.
- May operate colt washer and lubricators in area and assure adequate supply of cases to production line.
- Operate hand truck, electric lift/cart and push two wheeled dollies.
Material Handler Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience operating overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, flat beds, and tractors preferred.
- Must have full vision, including color vision.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, push up to 800 pounds with equipment assistance, reach overhead, repeated twist and bend at waist, climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, including overtime.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, lift and carry up to 40lbs, push or pull by way of team lift up to 800lbs, and use support devices such as; hand carts, pallet jacks, gondolas, and forklifts.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
