Summary

Develops and applies engineering design methods, CAD tools, theories, and techniques in the investigation and solution of technical problems. Remains abreast of the most modern engineering concepts through personal learning initiatives and continuing education programs while applying this knowledge to assigned tasks when appropriate.  This position pertains primarily to the Electrical Engineering segment of flight simulator design/development and is largely project oriented.  Task assignments may transcend several projects/programs simultaneously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks including design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate input/output systems

• System diagram and schematic diagram generation in AutoCAD

• Integration of aircraft avionics systems

• Perform and document electrical load analysis, balancing, etc.

• 3-phase power system calculations and design

• Analyze and evaluate the requirements compliance of CAE USA hardware products

• Provide administrative and technical support to Engineering department

• Assist other departments, when needed

• Resolves technical problems and provides technical support to suppliers and manufacturing

• Participate in installations and final sell off of training devices. Coordinate and review technical/operational deliverables prior to  
submission to customer

• Undertakes independent studies, analysis, interpretations, and conclusions

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program and majoring in Engineering,  
preferably Electrical or Computer Science/Systems Engineering

• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products

• Must be detail oriented

• Must be customer service oriented

• Must have excellent communication skills

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision

• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks

• Familiarity with Raspberry PI, Arduino, BeagleBone

• Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications

• Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

Security Responsibilities

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

- Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

- Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.

- Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required.

- The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

- May be required to climb stairs.

- Must be able to climb stairs to enter and exit a simulator

- Must be able to support rack mounted equipment (up to 7 feet off the ground).

- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
