Job Description
General Purpose of Job :
Perform all duties of a pharmacy technician and provide all functions of a pharmacist under the immediate supervision of a currently licensed pharmacist.
Essential Duties :
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
- Under direct supervision, assists the pharmacists with technical tasks associated with dispensing and billing medications including selecting, and transporting of drugs, and supplies, complex packaging, stocking, record keeping, transfers, admits, discharges, and drug preparation function
- Accurately electronically scan dispensed product with every prescription order dispensed
- Knowledgeable in insurance billing for accuracy and compliance with all standing regulations
- Knowledgeable in printing and utilization of reports that provide support in any business function
- Aids in store inventory preparation
- Serves as a positive representative of the Pharmacy to all department customers. Displays responsibility in helping to provide quality, compassionate, cost-effective pharmaceutical care to all customers. Is aware of the department’s overall goals and objectives and works to promote and support these goals. Participates in quality improvement activities in the department.
- Performs work within specified time frames. Works cooperatively with the other members of the Pharmacy team to provide accurate and efficient service to department customers. Fosters a team environment; willingly and cheerfully assists other Pharmacy Associates as the workload and staffing requires. Voices concerns and suggestions to the appropriate person in the appropriate manner. Adapts positively to frequent interruptions and change in workload and/or work schedule.
- Compounding of Non-sterile medications up to and including Moderate Compounding as defined by USP<795>. Compounding caregivers adhere to the prescription or medical order for the strength, quality and purity of compounding preparations. Compounded products are packaged, labeled and dispensed according to current laws and regulations.

Education
• Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy • High School Diploma/GED
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
