The Opportunity:

Revolution Medicines is seeking a Manager, Human Resources (HR) Operations, Japan to lead the delivery of reliable, consistent, and efficient employee services and HR processes. This people-manager role oversees the day-to-day work of the HR Operations team, translates functional plans into scalable workflows, and resolves operational issues across the employee lifecycle. Reporting to the Director, Human Rescources, Japan, the manager partners closely with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT and other key stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant HR services (dotted line reporting to the Senior Director, People Operations and Technology in the US).

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead employee lifecycle operations, including onboarding, employee changes, leave coordination, and offboarding, and ensure accurate and timely service.

- Translate HR policies and functional priorities into documented procedures, controls, service standards, and teamwork plans.

- Manage HR information system workflows, data quality, reporting, and issue resolution in partnership with HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Communications and IT.

- Coordinate HR operations vendors, monitor service performance and operating expenses, and address service risks and escalations.

- Track service metrics and employee feedback, identify recurring issues, and lead continuous improvement of HR operations processes to increase quality, compliance, efficiency, and scalability.

- Lead the responsible use of technology, including AI and automation, to simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve data quality and employee service in partnership with HR, IT, Legal, and data privacy stakeholders.

- Represent HR Operations in cross-functional and regional or global projects by defining requirements, coordinating dependencies, managing implementation activities, and supporting adoption.

- Set team goals, assign work, coach team members, support professional development, and reinforce accountability for service delivery.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

- A minimum of six years of progressive HR operations experience, including at least two years leading employees or significant operational workstreams.

- Strong knowledge of employee lifecycle processes, HR systems, data controls, and service delivery.

- Working knowledge of applicable Japanese employment requirements and employee data privacy practices.

- Experience managing operational projects, vendors, expenses, and cross-functional dependencies.

- Strong analytical judgment, problem-solving skills, and clear written and verbal communication.

- Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency, with the ability to communicate clearly with employees, leaders, vendors, and global partners.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated, high-growth environment.

- Experience with Workday or a comparable enterprise HR platform.

- Experience supporting multi-state or global employee populations.
