Join Our Team as a Patient Access Lead

In this role, youll provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to our Patient Access team while ensuring patients and visitors receive a welcoming, respectful, and seamless experience. As an ambassador of Deaconess, youll help cultivate a nurturing atmosphere built on courtesy, respect, empathy, dignity, and optimism.

What You'll Do:

- Provide first-line leadership, guidance, and support to Patient Access staff.

- Greet, register, and assist patients in a courteous, compassionate, and professional manner.

- Collect patient payments and assist with questions regarding financial responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

- Direct and/or escort patients and visitors to appropriate locations throughout the hospital.

- Monitor daily operations to ensure patient access processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and timely.

- Ensure registration, payment collection, and patient access practices comply with applicable State and Federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.

- Assist staff with problem-solving and resolution of patient access, registration, and customer service concerns.

- Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to new and existing Patient Access staff.

- Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and excellent customer service within the department.

- Help identify opportunities to improve patient flow, registration processes, and the overall patient experience.

- Serve as a resource for staff by answering questions and providing guidance related to patient access procedures and departmental workflows.

- Support a positive, collaborative team environment focused on accuracy, efficiency, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

- Represent Deaconess with courtesy, respect, empathy, dignity, and optimism in every interaction with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and colleagues.

Education & Experience:

- Completion of High School or GED is required.

- Previous experience in healthcare, patient access, registration, customer service, or a related field is required.

- Previous leadership, supervisory, or training experience is preferred.

- Experience working with patient registration systems and/or healthcare financial processes is preferred.

- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

- Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
