In this role, youll provide day-to-day leadership and support to our medical coding team, helping ensure quality, productivity, accuracy, and compliance. What You'll Do:
- Provide first-line supervision, guidance, and support to medical coding staff.
- Monitor coding quality, productivity, and performance to ensure department standards are met.
- Perform coding quality verification and help identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure coding practices comply with applicable State and Federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement while maintaining coding accuracy and compliance.
- Provide training and ongoing education to new and existing coding staff.
- Assist with problem-solving and resolution of coding-related questions and concerns.
- Assist with reporting from coding and abstracting applications.
- Support a positive, collaborative team environment focused on quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Education & Experience:
- Completion of High School or GED is required.
- A coding credential is required, such as Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Other AAPC or AHIMA credentials may be considered.
- Five years of previous medical coding experience is required.
- Bachelors Degree is preferred.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or training experience is preferred.
