Job Description :
Support new product development including design, analysis and testing of electrical and electronic components, products or systems for residential, commercial or industrial applications. Understand product requirements, define system architecture, and develop functional specifications for analog front-end, digital control, power supplies and communications modules. Responsible for schematic design, Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout, electronic component selection, prototype builds, hardware debug, hardware verification/validation and release to manufacturing. Support reliability testing and qualification efforts, including accelerated life tests (ALT) and emissions evaluations, to ensure compliance with utility and industrial standards. Create and maintain documentation including design artifacts, assembly drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and test plans along with their results. Coordinate efforts across firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams and partner with procurement to ensure supply chain continuity, optimize manufacturability and support product lifecycle needs. Collaborate with contract manufacturing and assembly partners to address technical questions, validate Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy and readiness, and facilitate a smooth transition from design to manufacturing. Optimize PCB assembly costs to keep overall manufacturing expenses within budget.
Job Requirements :
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience in product development. Experience must include:
Three (3) years of experience in the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
- Full life-cycle electronic hardware development - including prototyping, assembly process, test/verification and final design release for production.
- Design of both analog and digital circuit subsystems - including low-noise amplifiers, filters, power conversion modules, microcontroller architectures, Flash memories, logic devices, display interfaces, sensors, communication protocols, and signal-integrity management.
- PCB layout and schematic capture using EGAD tools (Cadence or Altium).
- Circuit simulation and modeling of analog and digital systems (L Tspice or PSpice).
- Design for manufacturability/ testability (DFM/DFT) and reliability engineering.
- Experience in performance validation and reliability test methodologies – including Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) and conducted and radiated emissions (Near-End).
- Experience with industry standards and compliance frameworks (IEC, ISO, and EMC/EMI).
- Troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, failure-mode detection.
- Test, measurement, validation of hardware using equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and LCR meter.
