The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join the team in Berkeley, MO or Hazelwood, MO . This role will design, implement, and continuously improve advanced manufacturing solutions that bridge engineering design intent to efficient, repeatable production.

This position is responsible for translating complex engineering requirements into build plans and digital work instructions, evaluating and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies (including design model interrogation, AR/VR opportunities, and/or digital mockups), leading 3D assembly/process analysis and simulation, and driving change across manufacturing functions to help architect the Production System of the future.

Position Responsibilities:

- Develop, validate, and maintain build plans, work instructions, and digital manufacturing content to support safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly
- Evaluate, pilot, and scale advanced manufacturing and digital solutions with attention to Technology Readiness Level and Manufacturing Readiness Level
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles to technology insertion and production process improvements
- Coach and support production teams in the use of new tools, processes, metrics, and digital content
- Create and maintain process definitions for validated build plans and digital work instructions for assigned product lines or systems
- Perform 3D process planning, spatial analysis, and virtual/physical assembly simulation
- Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks through simulation, analysis, and process optimization
- Integrate advanced digital tools such as interactive digital mockups, AR/VR aides, and simulation platforms into production workflows
- Define and document Production System requirements, standards, and best practices for current and future-state operations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production systems, including metrics, KPIs, and sustainment plans
- Train, coach, and support production personnel on new tools, processes, and digital manufacturing content
- Collaborate closely with design engineering, manufacturing operations, tooling, quality, safety, and PLM/PDM teams
- Primary objectives:
- Influence and/or author standards for developing, validating, and delivering build plans, work instructions, and digital manufacturing content
- Evaluate, pilot, and scale advanced manufacturing and digital solutions with attention to TRL and MRL
- Apply Lean and continuous improvement methods to processes supporting technology insertion
- Coach and enable production teams in the use of new tools, processes, and metrics

Key Deliverables:

- Process definitions for validated build plans and digital work instructions
- Simulation and analysis reports, including:

3D assembly sequencing

Time and space studies

Ergonomics assessments

Tooling and fixturing recommendations

- TRL/MRL assessments and implementation roadmaps for advanced solutions
- Training modules and rollout plans for technology integration into production teams
- Process and tool standards, best practices, and requirements for future-state production systems

Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

This position requires ability to obtain Special Program Access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 7+ years’ related engineering experience
- 3+ years’ experience in 3D CAD software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms including at least two of the following: Computer Aided Three-dimensional Interactive Application (CATIA), Enterprise Innovation Interactive Application (ENOVIA) or Product Data Manager (PDM)
- Experience leading Low TRL (Technology Readiness Level) work for Autonomy
- Experience working in design or analysis engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills applied to manufacturing process improvements and technology integration
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with track record of influencing cross-functional teams and driving change
- Experience with augmented reality / virtual reality (AR/VR) technologies in manufacturing contexts
- 3D process planning and assembly simulation experience (e.g., JT, DMU, Delmia, Process Simulate, etc.)
- Prior experience with advanced digital manufacturing suites (e.g., Delmia, Teamcenter Manufacturing, FactoryX, or similar end-to-end digital manufacturing platforms)
- Formal Lean training or certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
- Experience implementing/managing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integrations
- Familiarity with production tooling, fixtures, and ergonomic assessment tools
- Demonstrated success coaching/training production teams on new manufacturing technologies and sustaining improvements
- Exposure to aerospace manufacturing standards and regulated environments

Summary Pay Range: $100,300 – $135,700
