Senior QA Patent Analyst - PCT

We are hiring a Senior QA Patent Analyst to join our Intellectual Property team at Clarivate. In this role, you will review medical device and/or mechanical engineering patent cases received from USPTO. You will ensure daily quality control of all outgoing deliverables to the USPTO through consistent review of PCT cases.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Manufacturing or Aerospace) or equivalent relevant work experience
- 5+ years of experience working as a Patent Analyst or a similar role
- 2+ years of successful, full-time PCT examination experience
- Must pass USPTO Background check
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- U.S. citizen or work eligible legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years

It would be great if you also had...

- Understanding of AQL-based quality systems and their implementation
- Understanding of technical subject matter in one or more technical areas
- Ability to independently complete review of five assigned PCT cases daily on average
- Understanding of lack of unity practice as well as differences between US and PCT examination practice
- Ability to effectively communicate with PCT Analysts and managers by providing detailed correction requests and positive feedback where appropriate
- Ability to recommend, draft, and implement corrective action plans when necessary

What will you be doing in this role?

- Ensures daily quality control of all outgoing deliverables to the USPTO through consistent review of PCT cases
- Maintains an AQL-based performance monitoring system for ready assessment of all personnel within their technical area
- Works to ensure that performance issues are carefully managed to maintain compliance
- Communicates quality control needs such as revisions directly to PCT production managers and personnel

About the Team

You will be joining the Patent Analyst team supporting the USPTO, specifically focused on patent cases related to mechanical engineering and medical devices. This is a US-based team of 20-22 team members, both full time and contractors. You will report to the Senior Manager of PCT Patent Analysis.

Hours of Work

- Full Time, Permanent
- This is a remote position located in the United States
- You will work during core business hours in your time zone with the ability to flex as needed

Compensation - US only

The expected base salary for this position is $60,000-70,000 USD per year.  This role is eligible for a productivity bonus target of $30,000 USD.  Individual pay is based upon experience, education, skill and ability, expertise, and relevant factors. In addition to a competitive remuneration package, you will be eligible to participate in a benefits package that includes medical, dental, prescription drug, life insurance, 401k with match, long term disability coverage, vacation, sick time, volunteer time, discount programs, and many more.
