Job Description:
This job is responsible for overseeing the Operations team and ensuring they meet deadlines, execute, and coordinate tasks. Key responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex problems, ensuring adherence to operations procedures, providing guidance to employees, handling exception requests, and referring more complex problems to a senior manager. Job expectations include having an understanding of foundational operations and familiarity in a specific product line.
LOB Description :
The Trade Support Manager oversees the middle office Trade Support team and provides ongoing training and guidance to teammates. The Trade Support manager will be responsible for providing daily oversight of the trading and operational support to Private Bank. The Manager endorses the timely and accurate delivery and settlement of Equity and Fixed Income security transactions. The manager will lead projects and initiatives that elevate client service, mitigate risk and to create operational efficiency. This role interacts regularly with traders, portfolio managers, technology teams, control partners and auditors.
Responsibilities:
- Daily escalation point for exceptions involving trading, custodian banks, brokers and fund accounting
- Oversight of trade matching, affirmation and the delivery of security transactions to custodian banks and interested parties
- Leading department initiatives and projects that enhance client service, improve straight through processing and reduce risk
- Working with technology and business partners to create business cases, secure funding and implement to production on mutually agreed upon schedules
- Developing positive relationships with all internal and external contacts
- Reviewing and updating department procedures and policies
- Ensuring all Trade Support Service Level Agreement's are adhered to
- Ensuring compliance to all levels of audit and compliance (laws, rules and regulations)

Required Qualifications :
- 5 years of experience in an investment operations role supporting trade related functions or equivalent
- Exhibits excellent judgment and decision making skills
- Collaborative mindset with an ability to partner with others to address exceptions
- Intellectually curious with a desire to identify and implement innovation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Extremely detail oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and balance multiple assignments

- Solid understanding of fixed income and equity investments (including options)

Desired Qualifications:
- Technical competence on Trade Support best practices
- Experience with Charles River, Bloomberg, OMGEO, CTM, Oasys, PACE, TradeWeb, MarketAxess a plus
