Senior Delivery Consultant, AWS Professional Services

Description

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services team is seeking a skilled Delivery Consultant, to
join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you'll work closely with customers to
design, develop, implement and re-engineer applications to fully leverage the AWS Cloud,
including GenAI-accelerated modernization techniques. You'll be a key leader in driving
customer success through their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices
throughout the project lifecycle.

As a Delivery Consultant, you will be proficient in leading the architecture of complex, scalable,
and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You’ll work closely
with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current applications, and propose effective
migration strategies to AWS. As trusted advisors to our customers, providing guidance on
industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, you will be responsible for
leading the implementation process, ensuring adherence to best practices, optimizing
performance, and managing risks throughout the project.

Key job responsibilities
As an experienced technology professional, you will be responsible for:
• Designing and implementing complex, highly available, and secure AWS infrastructure
solutions tailored to customer needs
• Highly experienced in cloud migration strategies (6Rs) and leading complex migrations,
wave planning and utilization of migrating tooling to accelerate customer migrations.
• Conducting discovery and requirements-gathering sessions with customer stakeholders
to understand business drivers, technical constraints, and success criteria, and
translating them into actionable architecture recommendations
• Exerting technical influence across multiple teams, increasing their productivity and
effectiveness through knowledge sharing and architectural guidance
• Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
• Helping customers modernize legacy applications using proven patterns (e.g., .NET
Framework → .NET Core, Java EE → Spring Boot, etc)
• Decomposing monoliths into microservices and serverless architectures (Lambda,
ECS/EKS, Fargate, Step Functions, EventBridge)
• Database modernization using RDS, Aurora, DMS, and schema conversion tooling

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- • 8+ years of consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions experience
- • 3+ years of experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS with a proficiency in a wide range of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, AWS Migration Services etc)
- • Experience leading application architecture/design/modernization projects, including cloud-based solutioning (AWS or equivalent), with AI and automation
- • Experience leveraging agentic coding tools (Kiro, Claude Code, Codex or similar) to accelerate infrastructure automation, code generation, and documentation
- • Experience of large-scale software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more of: Java, C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, Go, Ruby, Swift.
- • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., CodePipeline, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS Professional level certification
- Demonstrated migration and modernization strategy development (6Rs) and implementation
- Demonstrated hands-on experience modernizing complex enterprise applications
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building sophisticated cloud native applications
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to lead software engineering best practices across testing, source control,
- code reviews, and deployment/release management processes
