The Christchurch City Mission (Te Whare Mīhana Ki Ōtautahi) helps anyone in need, no matter their situation. We work alongside people going through tough times—whether it’s due to job loss, housing issues, addiction, family difficulties, or financial stress.

This is a fulltime permanent role: Monday-Friday, 8.30am-5.00pm
About the role
No two days will be quite the same. You’ll connect with supporters, make thank-you calls, process donations, keep donor information accurate and help fundraising activity run smoothly. Whether you’re answering an donor enquiry, supporting fundraising activities or working across our database, your work will create a welcoming and professional supporter experience.
- Build genuine connections with donors through warm communication
- Make thank-you calls and help supporters see the impact of their generosity
- Process donations, receipts and acknowledgements accurately and promptly
- Keep donor records current, accurate and confidential
- Support donor communications, mailings, events and regular giving
- Help individuals, schools and community groups bring fundraising ideas to life
- Be the organised, dependable support that keeps the wider team moving
About you
You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy connecting with people, take pride in getting the details right and naturally follow things through. You’ll bring:
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to confidently juggle priorities
- A sharp eye for detail and care when handling sensitive information
- A warm, respectful communication style and confidence speaking by phone
- Solid Microsoft 365 skills; CRM or fundraising database experience is a bonus
- Initiative, reliability and a practical “I’ll take care of it” attitude
- Respect for people from all backgrounds and a collaborative approach
- A willingness to learn and a genuine connection with the Mission’s values
