About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.
As a key member of the Financial Accounting team, you will provide expert advice and support across financial accounting, taxation, statutory reporting, audit and compliance. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver accurate and timely financial outcomes while strengthening financial governance and controls.
You will also act as a subject matter expert on accounting standards and taxation matters and provide leadership support to the Financial Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial accounting activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow reporting and month-end processes.
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and legislative requirements.
- Manage taxation obligations, including BAS, payroll tax, FBT and income tax instalments.
- Coordinate statutory and compliance audits, acting as the primary contact for external auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee key finance processes, including Delegated Financial Authority, AASB 16 lease accounting, employee entitlement accounting and treasury support
- You will also develop and maintain effective financial controls, policies and procedures, provide technical guidance to Finance Business Partners and act as deputy to the Financial Accounting Manager when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, together with CA, CPA or ACCA accreditation.
- Extensive experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, audit, taxation or a similar finance role.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, financial reporting and taxation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working with auditors and managing statutory and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities, supported by excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
You will be a collaborative and trusted finance professional who can influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and identify opportunities to improve processes and financial outcomes.
