About this role

Reporting to the Team Leader Civil Maintenance, this role is responsible for delivering Council’s Unsealed roads, Fire tracks and capital road repair program. While this is the primary focus of the position, the successful candidate will bring a flexible and team-oriented approach, providing support across other civil maintenance activities when required to meet operational priorities and service delivery needs.

Our Civil Maintenance team is responsible for maintaining and improving the city's unsealed roads, Fire tracks and associated assets. Based at our Golden Grove Operations Centre, the team delivers both planned and reactive maintenance programs to ensure our streets, reserves and public spaces remain safe, accessible and well-maintained for the community.

To support this important work, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Officer Civil Maintenance Grader operator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities of this role:

- Patrol grading and re-sheeting of unsealed roads, along with maintenance of fire tracks and urban rural verges.
- Work collaboratively and provide flexible support across the Civil Maintenance team
- Working safely in and around civil plant and equipment including Skid Steers, excavators, front end loaders and tipper trucks
- Setting up and maintaining temporary traffic management and general site safety controls
- Completing site risk assessments and following councils WHS procedures

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
- Current Grader licence (LG)
- A Work Zone Traffic Management (WZTM) or Temporary Traffic Management Implementor 1 (TMI1) and Traffic Controller 1 (TC1)
- Current South Australian Class HR licence
- Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police clearance.

This job will include:

- Occasional out of hours work may be required.
- Working with teams across the Field Services Department as required.
- This position may be labour intensive at times and requires physical capacity for activities associated with the regular use of minor plant and hand tools.

Salary range is between $77,959 to $79,218 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
