About this role
We currently have an opportunity for a Security Technician based on site at TAFE Southbank in Brisbane . Join our Health and Education team and play a key role in maintaining reliable electronic security, access control and safety systems across this important education precinct. Reporting to the Asset Manager , you’ll help deliver high-quality security services that support the safe, efficient and effective operation of the site. What You'll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Install, program and maintain Gallagher access control, CCTV and electronic security systems.
- Monitor system performance and promptly diagnose and rectify equipment faults or damage.
- Maintain security control room capability, including alarms, CCTV and emergency-response systems.
- Review technical requirements and recommend system improvements, upgrades and innovations.
- Deliver scheduled work safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards, KPIs and deadlines.
What You'll Bring
- Gallagher Access Control Certification and demonstrated Gallagher Command Centre experience.
- A current Security Installer Licence, Class 2 Technical, and Monitoring Licence.
- A current Structured Cabling Licence and an Open C Class Driver Licence.
- Certificate III in Technical Security is preferred.
- A Positive Notice Blue Card for child-related employment, or willingness to obtain one.
Experience across electronic security, access control, CCTV and emergency systems will be highly regarded. You’ll also bring strong technical problem-solving skills, the ability to interpret technical plans and a customer-focused approach to working with stakeholders.
