About this role

UL Solutions’ Field Engineering team works on-site with our customers to understand their needs and how they meet the market's needs. We help to ensure that all certified products continue to comply with UL Solutions' requirements and partner with customers to help them meet their changing needs.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS – TRAVEL (ESSENTIAL FUNCTION):

- Ability and willingness to travel extensively is a core and essential requirement of this role.
- Travel may include driving long distances, travel by commercial aircraft, public transportation (including trains and other mass transit systems), or other locally approved transportation methods, where legally permitted and authorized by company policy.
- Field Engineers may be required to travel up to approximately 60,000 kilometers (37,000 miles) per year using one or more of the transportation modes listed above.
- Where driving is required, the employee must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet all legal, insurance, and medical requirements to safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Where essential duties require air travel (e.g., inspections in remote locations, meetings, training, or company events), the employee must be able and willing to travel by commercial aircraft.
- Inability to meet essential travel requirements may impact the employee’s ability to continue in the Field Engineer role. The company will consider reasonable accommodations or alternative roles, in accordance with applicable law, consultation requirements, and company policy.
- Must be compliant with any company driver program.

HOME LOCATION REQUIREMENT:
- The employee’s designated home address must be located within the assigned service territory.
- Home location is a material condition of employment and is established to optimize travel efficiency, response times, and customer service effectiveness.
- Relocation outside the approved territory (including moves of approximately 50 km / 31 miles or more) must be approved in advance by manager and HR in writing.
- Unauthorized relocation may result in reassignment, territory adjustment, or other employment actions in accordance with company policy.

HIRE-IN
- Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary vocational education diploma in a relevant Technical Discipline (such as Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology or Physics but not limited to these disciplines only) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years directly related experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and local language
- Valid Driving license with good driving records where applicable.
- Readiness to extensive travel
- Good communication skills
- Commitment to Customer Focus
- Good IT skills

Must be located or willing to relocate to the Brea, California area.

- Total Rewards : We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career . The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 5% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
